Jamie’s Global Racetrack Walk

Written by Aaron Dennis, January 26, 2021

Jamie, who has severe haemophilia B, is walking almost 95 miles, an equivalent of a distance of 31 famous race tracks from across the world, to raise funds for The Haemophilia Society this month. We recently got in touch with Jamie to ask how he was getting on; “The Challenge is going very well thank you. I’m pushing my limits of how fast I can be with my joint issues and I’m surprising myself!”  You can read more below about Jamie, his challenge and how you can to support his effort to raise vital funds!

“Hi, I’m Jamie Green, I’m 25 years old and I am a Severe Haemophilia B sufferer. This year I wanted to do some charity events and decided to perform my own for January by combining my love for motor racing with a challenging scenario for me with my damaged knee and ankle joints and this the racetrack wall was born.

I am walking the distance of a world-renowned race track in my home town every day throughout January with the target of raising £250. I chose The Haemophilia Society as they have always been amazing in the supporting of people like myself with bleeding disorders and I thought it was time to give something back.

This is about raising awareness for haematology conditions and giving back to a charity that does such amazing work to support the everyday lives of people like me who are vulnerable but continue to try and live normal healthy lives.

I’m planning other events for The Haemophilia Society as well in the future but this is a great place to start, 95 miles over the month so a real challenge to go out every single day, whatever the weather and even if I’m having joint issues. I’d like to thank The Haemophilia Society for supporting me in this adventure and with our future events together.”
